How the Calculator Finds the Answer

The heartbeat calculation is based on the average number of beats for most humans. In general, the heart rate for a person who is not exercising is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. When the body is at rest, the average individual has a heart rate around 72 beats per minute. When calculated throughout the day, the average individual has around 100,000 heart beats for every 24 hours.

This  calculator takes the average and determines the estimated heart beats since birth based on the date of birth and the current date.

The number of breaths during a lifetime is more complicated because average number of breaths per minute changes throughout the lifetime. The average number of breaths a healthy adult breathes while not exercising is usually between 8 and 16 breaths per minute.

While the calculation might seem straightforward, the average number of breaths a healthy infant breathes can reach up to 44 breaths per minute. This means that throughout life, the number of breaths per minute changes.
